Having a healthy lifestyle has been getting ever more popular. People are eating healthily and going to the gym. This allows them to lead more active lives and feel much better with their body when they go to bed at night. The most underrated of all the possible activities however, is without a doubt the simplest. Walking.
Walking is great for slimming down. And it is readily available to anyone. However, how much of it do you have to do in order to notice a difference in your physique?
As with anything, it’s not that simple. Just walking a bunch will not get you any significant response. You need to pay special attention to your speed and body weight. Get a step counter and plan out your walking trips. The more regularly you walk, the slimmer you’ll become.
To plan accordingly, use this estimation: 100 kcal = 2,000 paces = 1.6 km; 1 kg = 140,000 paces = 7,000 kcal = 112 km. Of course, these numbers are ever changing depending on your health and habits, so don’t take them to heart.
Best thing about walking, is its availability. Instead of taking the elevator, take the steps. Instead of catching a taxi to go to work, walk there if possible. Additionally, walking straight is a big factor in achieving any significant weight loss change. You should start slowly and increase your speed gradually. Your back and shoulders need to be straight as well of course.
So as you can see, walking is rather straightforward. And, as with anything, can even be made fun. Listen to music, or walk your dog. Plan out your trips and do at least three a week if you can’t walk the desired amount every day.
Stay patient and motivated. If nothing else, if your weight loss is not what you expected. Your overall health will improve, and your lifestyle will get better because of it.
